
Jose Colon Bones
Treasurer & Executive Board Member
Jose was born in Puerto Rico and partially raised in both Puerto Rico and Philadelphia. He lived in Philadelphia for 20 years and lived in Dallastown for 14 years before returning to Philadelphia. Jose is a Co-Founder of Latinos Unidos of York. He works as a Property Manager/Tax Credit Specialist managing the tax credit developments under the Housing Authority of the City of York. He was the Board President of Hispanic-American Center of York/Centro Hispano José Hernández for 10 years. He currently serves on the board of directors of Crispus Attucks Association and is a co-founder, treasurer, and executive board member of Latinos Unidos of York. He also served on several local board of directors such as Community Progress Council and the York Area Housing Group. He has received several awards, including being the first Hispanic/Latino to receive the “Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons Service Award”, the York Daily Record’s very first “Hispanic/Latino Community Columnist”, and also one of the “20 People That Matter Award” and the “York Humanitarian Award” from the City of York.
